Bmi updates self-service check-in options by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Travellers will find it easier to check themselves in for a flight with bmi this year following an overhaul of the airline"s systems.
Technology giant IBM has provided the carrier with its self-service check-in solution, which is designed to make the process as quick and easy as possible for passengers using airport kiosks, mobile phones and the internet to check in.
Customers will be able to print out boarding passes, check in for onward flights, change seats and make use of other facilities with the new technology.
The updated system will be available from all of bmi"s main bases in the UK and Ireland, including London Heathrow, Dublin, Manchester and Glasgow.
Peter Federico, the airline"s IT director, said: "We are pleased to be partnering with a company which has demonstrated its capability in this field over a number of years.
"IBM"s solution has a well-proven track record, being run by many airlines in Europe and around the world. It gives us a unified check-in platform for self-service kiosks, web and mobile devices."
Stuart Wilson of IBM underlined the importance of reliable and user-friendly check-in technology, stating that customer service is now a "major priority" for airlines.
