Brits Urged To Go Long Haul For Good Value
Brits urged to go long-haul for good value by Cheap Flights Booker UK
British travellers can benefit from good value for money if they visit long-haul destinations, according to Abta - The Travel Association.
Spokeswoman Frances Tuke pointed out that prices in the majority of long-haul travel hotspots are lower than in Britain.
This can often cancel out the fact that the pound has fallen in value during the economic crisis, according to Ms Tuke.
"Quite a lot of long-haul destinations provide us with good value for money," she said.
"In a lot of markets we"ve seen sterling not performing very well over the last few years, but pretty much every destination is good for us because the quality [and] the price of living is cheaper."
Ms Tuke referred to the Maldives, Thailand, Sri Lanka and Malaysia as examples of destinations that are "much cheaper" than Britain for day-to-day spending.
The Abta spokeswoman also pointed out that well-established holiday destinations such as the US tend to offer good value for money for British visitors.
