Delta celebrates four years of Dusseldorf flights by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Delta Air Lines has marked the fourth anniversary of its flights between Atlanta and Dusseldorf by offering the route on a daily basis.
Services will depart Dusseldorf on Boeing 767-300 aircraft each morning at 9:20 local time, the airline announced.
The first service between the carrier"s US hub and the German city took place on 4 April 2006. Since then, around 400,000 people have flown on the non-stop route.
Christoph Blume, chief executive of the airport management at Dusseldorf, said the development of the service has been good for the city and the surrounding area.
"Atlanta"s airport is important in two respects: as a direct destination as well as one of the most important hubs in international air traffic," he explained.
"This non-stop connection plays a very significant role for the North Rhine-Westphalian economy, too. It strengthens existing relations between American and German companies and smoothes the way for new trade links and new potential business."
