Majority of Iceland "unaffected by volcano" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Holidaymakers planning to visit Iceland in the near future have been reassured that the majority of the country has not been affected by the eruption of the Eyjafjallajokull volcano.
The event has led to plenty of media coverage for Iceland in recent weeks, as the resultant cloud of volcanic ash has caused major disruptions to air services in the UK and Europe.
In Iceland itself, however, the effects of the eruption on daily life and the activities on offer to tourists are "negligible", according to the national tourism agency.
The country"s most popular attractions, such as the "golden circle" sites of Thingvellir National Park, the Haukadalur geothermal area and Gullfoss waterfall, have not been affected and are continuing to welcome visitors as normal.
Travellers can also continue to visit Reykjavik, which is home to attractions including the National Museum of Iceland and the old town area.
Britain"s Civil Aviation Authority announced earlier this week that it had introduced new measures to reduce any further disruption that could be caused by the eruption of Eyjafjallajokull.
