Tourism Australia launches Ashes iPhone app by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Cricket fans planning a trip to Australia for the 2010-11 Ashes series will be able to make use of a new application that has been launched for the iPhone.

Tourism Australia revealed that the Go Ashes app provides a range of information, including details on the five host cities - Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.

Users can also check team news, receive live updates and see bespoke videos featuring Aussie cricketing legends such as Justin Langer, Michael Bevan and Darren Lehmann.

People who can answer a series of questions on cricket and Australia in general will be in with a chance of winning a holiday to see the first Test in Brisbane.

Rodney Harrex, general manager of Tourism Australia in the UK and Europe, said: "Our new app is a must-download for anyone travelling to the country - both for the cricket and for those who want an insider guide to Australia."

He added: "We would encourage the travelling fans to have a go at some iconic Aussie experiences while they"re down there, such as learning to surf, wine tasting and beach cricket. Getting to the outback is a must-do too."

The 2010-11 Ashes series will get underway on 25 November and end with a Test in Sydney starting on 3 January 2011.
