Insight Guides has announced that it will release some new publications this year to celebrate its 40th anniversary.

The company will launch a Select series in October featuring linen covers, which it claims will take the brand into "a new luxury market".

More than 100 experiences will be listed in the books, along with bars, restaurants, attractions and "secret corners" of various destinations.

The series will begin with New York, Rome, San Francisco, Istanbul, Hong Kong and London, with new titles set to be added in spring 2011.

Insight Guides will also be celebrating its 40th anniversary with the introduction of the Travel Photography Guide in October, which will cover all sorts of subjects, from digital processing to the selling of images.

The book will feature a range of practical tips on how to create a striking photograph and a month-by-month guide to different destinations showing when they are at their most photogenic.

Insight reportedly offers the world"s largest range of visual travel guides, with around 478 titles in print covering more than 250 locations.
