Edinburgh Airport Forms New Green Partnership
Edinburgh Airport forms new green partnership by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Edinburg Airport has been awarded a top accolade in recognition of its ongoing efforts to minimise its overall carbon footprint.
Just this week, bosses at the city"s international airport confirmed that they are to go ahead with plans to charge people to drop off their loved ones outside the terminal building, despite the fact that such a kiss and fly tax is unlikely to go down well with passengers.
However, now they have been given a PR boost with the news that the Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust has signed the airport up to be one of its partners, with both parties set to work together to reduce carbon emissions and make flying out of the Scottish capital more eco-friendly.
Welcoming the development, airport managing director Kevin Brown said: "Edinburgh Airport has a solid track record in supporting and promoting green business in its surrounding communities.
"We"re therefore delighted to join with Edinburgh and Lothians Greenspace Trust as a Green Business Champion."
As of autumn 2010, Edinburgh Airport handles around nine million passengers a year, offering flights to Amsterdam and dozens of UK and European destinations.
