EasyJet marks 15th birthday by Cheap Flights Booker UK
EasyJet yesterday (10 November) celebrated 15 years of operating low-cost flights to popular locations across Europe.
The airline"s inaugural service from London Luton to Glasgow arrived on 10 November 1995.
To mark the anniversary, easyJet recreated its first ever flight and was met at the Scottish airport by Clyde 1 DJ Gavin Peterson and Glasgow"s lord provost Bob Winter.
Passengers received free drinks and cakes while listening to hit songs from 1995 and were invited to enter a competition to win free flights to some of the carrier"s European destinations.
Over the past 15 years, easyJet has transported more than 330m passengers on more than 500 different routes.
UK general manager Paul Simmons said: "EasyJet has come a long way since that very first flight to Glasgow. In 15 years we have grown to become the UK"s leading airline and Europe"s number one air transport network, which we"re extremely proud of.
"It is great that the hard work and commitment of the whole easyJet team has been recognised. We"re looking forward to continuing to provide fantastic service and our famous low fares over the next 15 years."
