Flybe to link Exeter to Dusseldorf by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Travellers based in south-west England will benefit from a new link to Europe next summer when Flybe launches a seasonal route from Exeter to Dusseldorf in Germany.

The carrier announced that it will operate weekly non-stop flights to the city between 23 April and 24 September 2011.

Representing the first ever direct link between Exeter airport and Germany, the new route will operate on Saturdays and is expected to be "very successful", said Jamie Christon, managing director of the UK base.

Flybe"s chief commercial officer Mike Rutter said: "We are pleased to be able to offer affordable travel direct from Exeter into Germany for next summer.

"The introduction of this new weekly service to Dusseldorf will certainly open up a convenient gateway from the south-west to this important Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region."

Exeter airport was recently nominated for a British Air Transport Association award recognising UK bases that handle fewer than 6m passengers per year.
