"Some of south-east Asia"s top attractions, such as Cambodia"s Angkor Wat and Halong Bay in Vietnam, last year reported significant increases in the number of visitors," noted Ms Carswell.

According to a recent report from the Pacific Asia Travel Association, south-east Asia will be the continent"s fastest-growing sub-region in the coming years.
