Britons Heading To All Inclusive Holiday Destinations
Britons "heading to all-inclusive holiday destinations" by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Established all-inclusive holiday destinations, like Mexico and Turkey, are attracting plenty of interest from British travellers this year, according to American Express Global Foreign Exchange Services.
The company released a report showing that, in the first quarter of 2011, sales of the Mexican peso were 168% higher than in the same period of the previous year.
As a result of the surge in demand, the peso climbed seven places in an index of the most popular currencies to sixth place.
Turkey"s lira experienced a 115% rise in sales year-on-year and was ranked the fifth most popular currency, behind the euro, US dollar, Australian dollar and Egyptian pound.
Terry Perrin, director of American Express Global Foreign Exchange Services, said: "Not only do Turkey and Mexico offer favourable exchange rates for the pound, they are also well-known all-inclusive destinations.
"The "all-inclusive" holiday trend has increased in recent years as holidaymakers, especially families, like to plan their spend ahead of time. Therefore, locations like Turkey and Mexico offer the best of both worlds for a lot of Britons."
New Zealand"s dollar, the United Arab Emirates dirham, the Thai baht and the Canadian dollar complete the list of the ten most popular currencies for Britons, based on the American Express sales figures.
