EasyJet Receives 200th Airbus Plane
EasyJet receives 200th Airbus plane by Cheap Flights Booker UK
EasyJet has become the world"s youngest airline to own a fleet of 200 Airbus planes.
The carrier marked the achievement at a ceremony in Toulouse, which was attended by the company"s chief executive officer Carolyn McCall and Airbus president Tom Enders, among others.
A special A320 with an all-orange colour scheme was unveiled at the event, before setting off on its maiden flight from Toulouse to Paris and heading to London.
Ms McCall highlighted the growth of easyJet"s fleet over the past 15 years, with just two aircraft in operation when the airline launched in 1996.
She added: "Our ambition is to become Europe"s preferred airline.
"We"re already Britain"s biggest - carrying more passengers than BA, Virgin and bmi put together. We aim to turn Europe orange and the special livery on our 200th aircraft embodies that ambition."
The carrier is Europe"s biggest A320 operator and also owns the world"s largest fleet of Airbus A319s, with more than 160 of these aircraft being used on easyJet flights across the UK, Europe and other regions.
