BA to serve British champagne in First Class by Cheap Flights Booker UK
A British winemaker is to get the honour of having his champagne served at 30,000 feet, as British Airways has announced that it will be serving a new type of bubbly in First Class.
Richard Balfour-Lynn told the Independent that his award-winning Balfour Brut 2007 is due to be served on-board the international airline"s flights.
Grown in the Hush Heath Vineyard in Kent, the sparkling rose aims to be as good as, if not better than the big French names such as Veuve Clicquot and Laurent Perrier.
In fact, Mr Balfour-Lynn claims that his wine has been picked over its French rivals in blind taste tests.
"I"m absolutely thrilled about the decision by British Airways to stock Balfour Brut. It shows we can compete with the best," he told the national newspaper.
British Airways operates a range of short and long-haul international flights, and recently introduced first class cabins on its route to Las Vegas.
