easyJet to launch flights from London Southend Airport by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Budget airline easyJet has announced that it will be launching its first flights from London Southend Airport in April of next year.

The low-cost carrier will station three Airbus A319s there to operate 70 flights per week to destinations including Barcelona, Faro and Ibiza.

Tickets for these new routes will go on sale at the end of next month, and it is hoped that this will lead to an extra 800,000 passengers using this airport each year.

Furthermore, London Southend Airport is due to open a new multi-million pound terminal in the autumn, which is just a short walk from the airport"s new train station.

Catherine Lynn, customer and revenue director at easyJet, said: "The airport is in a fantastic location just outside London with a fast rail link into the city."

She added that customers can get from plane to train in just 15 minutes.
