Virgin Atlantic revamping fleet to offer new inflight amenities by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Travellers catching flights from Gatwick and Manchester airports with Virgin Atlantic will soon have access to a range of new services and amenities following a fleet renewal programme.
The airline is spending more than £50m on revamping the interiors of its Boeing 747-400 aircraft operating out of the two bases.
Due to be carried out between May and October next year, the project will see new seats installed in economy and premium economy cabins, along with an inflight entertainment system featuring touch-screen handsets and more than 300 hours of content.
Furthermore, passengers flying on the reconfigured planes from Gatwick and Manchester will be able to make calls and send messages from their mobile phones for the first time on Virgin Atlantic services.
The airline"s chief executive officer, Steve Griffiths, said: "Last year Virgin Atlantic flew three quarters of a million passengers from Gatwick and we are very proud to be able to offer what we think will be the best leisure fleet operating out of this airport."
He went on to highlight another forthcoming development for the airline - the introduction of additional flights to Cuba, Tobago and Grenada in the Caribbean during the forthcoming winter season.
