Jet Airways has achieved what it describes as a "major milestone" with the induction of the 100th aircraft into its fleet.
The Indian airline took delivery of a new Boeing 737-800 in Seattle last week.
It is the third plane of its kind in the carrier"s fleet configured with eight premier class and 162 economy seats.
Jet Airways highlighted a number of onboard features and developments which it expects to enhance the passenger experience, including quieter cabins and pivot bins providing more overhead capacity for travellers with bags.
The new aircraft will enter commercial service on 5 December 2011.
Commenting on the delivery of Jet Airways" 100th plane, chief executive officer Nikos Kardassis said: "The airline has always chosen to utilise the very best in next-generation avionics to ensure superior quality, reliable service and above all customer satisfaction."
He went on to note that the carrier was the first in Asia to use the Boeing 737-800, less than a year after its commercial induction in the US.
Before the end of 2011, Jet Airways will operate flights to 76 destinations, including 24 international locations.
