Air New Zealand Flies All Black Plane To Heathrow
Air New Zealand flies all black plane to Heathrow by Cheap Flights Booker UK
London Heathrow this week played host to a new all black Boeing 777-300ER operated by Air New Zealand.
Decorated to reflect the airline"s sponsorship of New Zealand"s World Cup-winning rugby union team, the plane will soon be deployed on flights to Los Angeles and Auckland from Heathrow airport.
By mid-2012 it will be landing at the hub twice a week.
Christopher Luxon, Air New Zealand"s general manager for international operations, said the airline was excited to be taking the "iconic imagery" of a silver fern against a black background around the world on a 74-metre "flying billboard".
"It will certainly get people"s attention when they see it landing at its main destinations of Auckland, Los Angeles and London Heathrow airports over the coming year," he added.
Boeing revealed that it took just over a week to paint the aircraft, with 14 people working in shifts 24 hours a day to decorate the plane with some 700 litres of primer and paint.
