Titanic Tourism Set To Be Big This Year

"Titanic tourism" set to be big this year by Cheap Flights Booker UK

"Titanic tourism" is expected to become a strong trend this year, owing to the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the ocean liner and a planned 3D re-release of James Cameron"s blockbuster movie based on the disaster.

A spokeswoman for news and reviews website Cruise Critic predicted that trips related to the Titanic and its story will be "huge" in 2012.

"The auction of Titanic memorabilia has kicked off the momentum and Belfast is putting a big effort into promoting its new visitor centre," she said.

Northern Ireland"s capital city is currently hosting a major new exhibition telling personal stories and featuring 500 original artefacts from the ill-fated ship at the Ulster Folk & Transport Museum.

A similar display is running at the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore and will continue until 29 April.

As well as commenting on the popularity of Titanic tourism, the Cruise Critic spokeswoman predicted that regions such as Scandinavia, the Mediterranean, the Caribbean and the Canary Islands will prove popular among people taking holidays at sea this year.
