Manchester Airport Number One For New Summer Routes

Manchester airport "number one for new summer routes" by Cheap Flights Booker UK

Manchester airport has claimed that it is "number one for new routes this summer", with a total of 16 new services set to be launched, more than any other UK base.

Several airlines will be stepping up their operations in north-west England during the peak travel season, including easyJet, which will offer flights to Berlin and Madrid.

Lufthansa will also add a connection to Brandenburg airport, the new gateway to Germany"s capital city, while Monarch Airlines is set to introduce flights to Venice, Milan and Verona in Italy.

Looking further afield, Turkish Airlines will boost frequency on its route from Manchester to Istanbul this summer and United Airlines will begin a new service to Washington Dulles airport at the beginning of May.

The UK base has experienced 12 consecutive months of passenger growth and recently became Britain"s third largest airport, overtaking London Stansted.

Chief operating officer Andrew Harrison said: "The summer schedule looks impressive and many of our airlines have witnessed the continuing passenger growth here and commenced new services as a result."
