Holidaymakers Urged To Save Money By Changing Destination
Holidaymakers urged to save money by changing destination by Cheap Flights Booker UK
People planning to book an affordable holiday this year have been encouraged to be flexible about their destination to save money.
According to the Changing Places report from Post Office Travel Money, travellers could save more than £400 if they are willing to choose the cheapest country for their needs.
Combining the cost of a one-week flight-inclusive break with daily expenses such as food and drink, the company found that a couple could spend £1,360 in Croatia, compared to £903 in Portugal.
A poll of holidaymakers revealed that Spain"s Costa hotspots and Turkey were perceived to offer the best value, while the Post Office"s pricing research suggests that Portugal, Bulgaria and Mallorca are all cheaper.
More than two-thirds (69%) of respondents said they would consider changing their destination to save money.
It is always advisable to take all costs into account when choosing a holiday location, said Andrew Brown, head of Post Office Travel Money.
He added: "In tough times, it is hard to stay loyal when there are big savings to be made by swapping to a destination that is over a third cheaper."
