Japan Airlines launching inflight Wi-Fi by Cheap Flights Booker UK
Japan Airlines will boost its passenger offering this summer with the introduction of inflight wireless internet access.
JAL SKY Wi-Fi will gradually be made available onboard international flights as the carrier equips aircraft with the eXConnect solution from Panasonic Avionics Corporation.
Passengers in every cabin class will be able to send and receive emails, access social media platforms such as Facebook and surf the internet using smartphones, laptops and other internet-enabled devices.
The service will be comparable to ground-level broadband in terms of connection and data transfer speed, according to Japan Airlines.
After being installed on a Boeing 777-300ER operating flights to New York from Tokyo Narita in July, the technology will be expanded to routes to Chicago, Los Angeles and Jakarta by the end of October this year.
Travellers heading to Japan from London, Paris and Frankfurt will be able to access inflight internet with the carrier by spring 2013.
