Zombies ride Six Flags America"s new rollercoaster by Cheap Flights Booker UK

People planning to visit Maryland"s only theme park during a trip to the United States this year can follow in the footsteps of a horde of zombies by trying out a new thrill ride.

The debut of Apocalypse - The Last Stand at Six Flags America was celebrated by a train full of people dressed up as the undead who experienced two minutes of hairpin turns, inversions and corkscrew twists.

Riders are sent along nearly 3,000ft of track at speeds of up to 55 miles per hour, all in a standing position.

Part of the experience is the approach to the ride, which features aircraft wreckage, burned-out cars and special effects suggesting the end of the world.

Six Flags America president Rick Howarth said the new attraction was chosen to broaden the site"s rollercoaster collection and give guests a "multi-sensory thrill ride experience".

"Zombies, rollercoaster enthusiasts and all-round thrill-seekers are invited to stand up to their fear and ride Apocalypse!" he added.

The park is located 15 miles east of Washington DC and 30 miles south-west of Baltimore.
