VisitScotland celebrates record-breaking campaign by Cheap Flights Booker UK

VisitScotland is celebrating the success of its recent spring/summer promotional push, which delivered some £71m for the tourism industry.

The agency revealed that the Perfect Day campaign exceeded "even the most optimistic expectations" and represented a record achievement for the country.

VisitScotland is now on target to reach the £100m goal set earlier this year.

Mike Cantlay, chairman of the organisation, said the campaign highlights the importance of the tourism industry in times of economic difficulty.

He added: "Working in partnership with tourism businesses and partners across Scotland our marketing activity is showing tangible benefits, with a third of respondents being influenced by the Perfect Day communications and a massive 61% agreeing that the campaign would influence them to take a trip later in the year.

"This sort of activity isn"t just marketing jargon, it"s real and it"s protecting livelihoods and increasing jobs."

The campaign focused on Scotland"s islands and coastline, showcasing activities such as kayaking and sailing.
